at the CENTER ...
Each year Director Len Lamberti compiles and organizes data on the volume of hours and students served by the staff at the Center for Academic Resources. View this four-page report to get a full sense of all the academic support that we provide. We provide assistance in preparing to take the Graduate Record Exam (GRE). Contact Randy Schroeder (randalls[at]unh.edu or 862-3687) for more details or to schedule an appointment. We have also gathered info on the Graduate Record Exam (GRE) which might be useful for taking the exam and planning for graduate school.
Are you exploring the courses for a specific major? Planning ahead for future electives or general requirements? Course descriptions in the catalog are very brief, so we keep a collection of recent course syllabi in hard copy and electronic form at CFAR (we're in Wolff House.) Just stop by during office hours to view them at our special kiosk. We also receive the offiicial end-of-semester course evaluations (now only in electronic form) for your use as well.
Our drop-in review sessions are intended to provide additional support to all of the sections of Finite Math (except sections 25 & 26 with Prof. Feldman). You are still expected to attend all lectures and labs. Our goal is for you to understand concepts and to succeed in the class. Students can stay as long as they wish during the review session hours. These sessions will meet every WEDNESDAY from 4:00 - 6:00 pm in DeMerritt Hall 240. Just show up to review problems and ask questions! A variety of study groups are offered through CFAR every semester. In Fall, 2009 we're offering groups for some sections of BIOL 411 and for ADMN 420. Please feel welcome to contact our study group coordinator, Christine Zaimes, for more information on our study groups at 862-3698 or christine.zaimes[at]unh.edu to ask about study groups. This report presents the findings from the 2008 CFAR Faculty Survey administered to faculty in Spring, 2008. The purpose of this evaluation was to assess the academic needs of students in order to refine and develop relevant support services through the Center for Academic Resources (CFAR).
