OUR MISSION and PHILOSOPHY

The mission of the Center for Academic Resources is to assist undergraduate students in achieving their academic potential and in maximizing their educational experience at UNH. Toward these ends, the Center staff teach students to become actively involved in the learning process and to develop their abilities in order to attain their educational objectives.

We believe that ...
... we have something to offer all undergraduates

We teach ...
.... active learning skills
... skills that promote academic effectiveness and critical thinking

We provide ...
... information and referrals to local resources

We encourage students ...
... to develop active learning approaches
... to engage in the learning process
... to develop proactive life skills, including establishing educational goals and setting priorities

"Education is not
the filling of a pail,
but the lighting of a fire."

William Butler Yeats
